Macrohard is the online name of a Linux enthusiast who creates custom Linux Distros. The name Macrohard was initially a joke that Macrohard and their friends came up with. The Macrohard/Winux project started when Macrohard attempted to customize Linux Mint Cinnamon to look like Windows 7 for an April Fools' prank on a friend who still used Windows 7. Their friend found it hilarious and suggested turning it into an actual distro. Macrohard could not find any Linux distro that recreated the Windows 7 experience, except for the discontinued ChaletOS. Therefore, they decided to create their own distro, Winux 7. Currently, Macrohard is working on Winux 10, a distro that aim to recreating the Windows 10 experience in the Gnome Desktop environment.
